My next book will be about the rise of transatlantic periodical culture in the 70 years between the French Revolution and American Civil Wa, with attention to historical developments that gave rise to the principled critical journalism that today is under threat. A forthcoming book chapter looks at women Scottish novelists and memoirists Susan Ferrier, Mary Brunton and Elizabeth Grant of Rothiemurchus. I have also recently published on Scott and the Anthropocene. I was guest editor of the Yearbook of English Studies 47 (2017) titled "Walter Scott: New Interpretations," which brings together innovative new ways of reading Scott for the 21st Century. The British Academy awarded me the Rose Mary Crawshay Prize (2007) for my book Scott, Byron and the Poetics of Cultural Encounter (Palgrave, 2005). I have given many public talks including recently for the National Trust Scotland and, on John Constable, for The National Gallery. In addition to publications that include my recent book Walter Scott and the Greening of Scotland: Emergent Ecologies of a Nation (Cambridge University Press, 2021), I am a regular speaker at conferences around the world. The visual arts and music also inform my work and I am currently writing about J. My main interests are late 18th century and Romantic period literature, transatlantic writing, Scottish literature, periodical culture, ecocriticism and environmental writing. She was nominated in 1976 for an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actress" for the made-for-TV movie Amelia Earhart. Oliver was later a cast member on the soap opera Days of Our Lives during 1975-1976. Because of that, a documentary about her life was called The Green Girl. In one scene, Oliver played an alien with green skin.
She played the female lead character Vina. In 1964, Oliver was in the first pilot of the television program Star Trek.
It won Oliver a Theater World Award for "Outstanding Breakout Performance". Oliver began rehearsals for a co-starring role in the Broadway play Patate in mid-1958.
